Carrying Out Fire Safety Checks

Course Overview

⏱️ Duration - 2 days

🎓 Accreditation - IRTSC Certificate of Completion

The Carrying Out Fire Safety Checks course is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to carry out routine fire safety checks within a workplace, building or operational environment.

Carrying Out Fire Safety Checks

The course supports staff who have responsibility for identifying fire safety issues, checking basic fire precautions, reporting defects and supporting a safe working environment. It is particularly suitable for fire wardens, facilities staff, security teams, supervisors, building managers and personnel who complete daily, weekly or monthly fire safety inspections.

Fire safety checks are an important part of preventing fires, maintaining safe evacuation arrangements and ensuring that fire safety equipment remains available and ready for use. Poor housekeeping, blocked escape routes, damaged fire doors, missing extinguishers, overloaded electrical sockets or unavailable alarm points can all increase risk and delay emergency response.

This course provides learners with a practical understanding of what to look for, how to record findings and when to escalate concerns. It does not qualify learners to complete a full technical fire risk assessment, but it does enable them to support workplace fire safety arrangements through effective routine checks.
