Breathing Apparatus Instructor

The SFJ Level 3 Award in Breathing Apparatus Instruction is designed for experienced BA wearers who are responsible for developing and maintaining operational competence within their organisation. The programme equips delegates with the knowledge and practical skills required to plan, deliver, assess, and review BA training in both classroom and realistic operational environments.

Throughout the course, delegates will develop a comprehensive understanding of BA procedures, equipment, physiology, risk management, and instructional methodologies. Successful completion of the programme leads to a nationally recognised qualification in Breathing Apparatus Instruction.

The qualification comprises two mandatory units:

  • Unit 1: Knowledge of Breathing Apparatus Instruction
  • Unit 2: Deliver Instruction in the Use of Breathing Apparatus
